Panoramic Photo of Hanauma Bay, Hawaii

by sean on October 28, 2010

So the Daily HDR for today, isn’t exactly an HDR.  While I was in Hawaii this past weekend I took a ton of photos and started experimenting with some panoramic shots.  The lighting and the scene wasn’t really conducive to good HDR, so I tried this out instead.  I was pretty pleased with the results, so I figured I would throw it up here as a nice change of pace.

This is Hanauma Bay on the island of Oahu.  It’s about a half hour from Waikiki and is the most popular spot on the island for snorkeling (even if it was only mediocre).  They make you watch a video before heading down to the beach about the importance of preserving the coral and sea life.  Definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in the area.

This is a composite of 4 photos shot with a Tokina 11-16mm lens and a Nikon D5000.
