July 5, 2010: Chao Praya River

This past weekend after getting back from Bali, I wanted to do something special for my girlfriend’s birthday.  To celebrate I decided to surprise her and got a room at the Lebua Hotel inside the State Tower in Bangkok.  The state tower is the second tallest building in Thailand, and has some of the coolest bars and restaurants in town.  If you are ever in Bangkok, be sure to check out Sky Bar which is an open air bar on the 64th floor.  If you really feel like blowing some money, have dinner up there at Sirocco restaurant – one of the highest Al Fresco restaurants in the world.

While they wouldn’t let me take my camera up to Sky Bar, I was able to get this shot from our balcony of our room on the 56th floor.
