Stormy Station HDR Photo

by sean on November 3, 2010

This is another HDR photo I took near Union Station in Portland, Oregon while waiting for a train a couple weeks ago.  Along with Union Station Footbridge I tried to go for a really neutral stormy feel, and really liked the way the clouds turned out.

This was the first image I’ve edited with Photomatix 4, and I gotta say, I was pretty impressed with some of the new features – in particular the ghosting removal.  The flags at the top of the page had a lot of ghosting, and all I had to do was circle the area, right click, and it fixed it surprisingly well.

This was shot with a Nikon D5000 and a Sigma 18-200mm lens at f/5.6, iso 200, and an 18mm focal length.

Fantastic picture! I love how the reds and the blues pop out.
