July 3, 2010: Monkey

A few days ago you may recall a DailyHDR from the Monkey Forest in Ubud, Bali.  Well I did take some photos of monkeys as well, and these ones proved to be much more friendly than the ones we came across at Uluwatu Temple near Kuta a few days later.  While the ones in Ubud would happily pose for photos and act more similar pet dogs than wild animals, the Uluwatu monkeys were evil.  They’d run up behind tourists, and steal their glasses, break them in half and toss them on the ground.  For those lucky enough not to have their glasses broken, they would still have to pay a local to help them get their belongings back.

Stay tuned for some incredible Uluwatu sunset shots in the coming days!

What a pose! I will attest to all the naughty monkeys being at Ulu Watu. There was one other temple that we went to where the monkeys were crazy and we had to have a guide keep them off of us. They would literally climb up your legs and sit on your shoulders. Looking forward to seeing the sunset shots.
